Why The Catholic Man Show Exists — And Why Tulsa Needs St. Michael Catholic Radio More Than Ever
If you’ve ever tuned into The Catholic Man Show, laughed at one of our stories, or joined us for a glass of on-air whiskey and a good conversation about virtue, you may not know the whole story behind how this show began.
The Catholic Man Show exists because of St. Michael Catholic Radio.
Before the microphones, before the fist-pumped “CHEERS TO JESUS,” before the podcast, livestreams, pilgrimages, and community—you had a small Catholic radio station in Tulsa that took a leap of faith.
The Birth of The Catholic Man Show
Almost 10 years ago, Adam Minihan and David Niles launched St. Michael Catholic Radio 94.9FM, a lay-run Catholic apostolate with a simple mission:
Bring solid Catholic teaching to Tulsa and make it accessible to everyone—Catholic or not.
But they didn’t stop there. Soon after launching the station, they created a local show for Catholic men that reflected their own lives, friendships, and conversations.
And so, The Catholic Man Show was born.
Today, listeners from around the world tune in—but it all began as a local radio show broadcasting from Tulsa, Oklahoma on St. Michael Catholic Radio.
Catholic Radio Changes Lives
St. Michael Catholic Radio isn’t just another frequency on the dial. It broadcasts 24/7 Catholic programming to the entire Tulsa metro area, reaching up to 1 million people.
Programming includes:
-
Local shows like The Catholic Man Show
-
National favorites from EWTN
-
Interviews, apologetics, devotions, and parish-supportive content
And here’s the part that still surprises people:
Catholic Radio brings people into the Church.
We have documented stories of non-Catholics in Tulsa who began listening to St. Michael Catholic Radio and, through consistent exposure to the truth of the Faith, eventually entered the Catholic Church.
Some joined OCIA, some returned after decades away, and some discovered the Catholic faith for the first time—simply because they heard the Gospel proclaimed clearly and faithfully on their radio.
This is evangelization happening quietly, daily, and powerfully.
A Listener-Funded Mission
Unlike large media networks, St. Michael Catholic Radio is 100% listener-funded.
Every hour of Catholic programming, every local show, every broadcast from the tower—you make possible.
And that brings us to our most important event of the year.
